Update on first scene

This is a work in progress map that'll be used in the first scene.

As I said before, I'm no artist, let alone a pixel artist. I know a bit of photoshop only and that's the tool and the skill I can use. I'm not even trying for something decent, I just want to make things more or less look like what they should.

I'm using photobashing + dynamic indexing dither.

On other words: Photobashing is when I literally pic a photo with the object/texture that I want, isolate, normalize and then resize it to the dimensions it should have to be fitted within the game's resolution. In this picture, the red outline represents the camera's limits.

After the object is done, I do a quick fix around the edges to emphasize the shape.

Then, the object is taken to a file that applies a series of adjustments which turn it black and white, posterize it to eliminate detail to taste and, applies whichever colors I want and then dithers it to create a fake pixelart effect.

It's far from ideal, but it saves time and there are plenty of resources for me to apply this method. My inspiration if a little known japanese horror game called Yuuyami Doori Tankentai, which I hope to perfectly steal the looks someday.

I took a week to get back to work because college is taking a lot of time. I also practice judo and somedays I literally sleep on the keyboard. My motivation has taken a hit I confess, but since I got myself into Lovecraft, the will to make a game in a cosmic horror setting is enough to keep me going.

Cheers to all yesdevs.
